How to install google analytics in wordpress

Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to install Google Analytics on your WordPress website:

Step 1: Sign up for a Google Analytics account

Before you can install Google Analytics, you need to create an account. If you already have a Google account, you can use that to sign up for Google Analytics. If not, you’ll need to create a new one.

Step 2: Get your tracking code

Once you have your Google Analytics account set up, you need to get your tracking code. This is a unique code that you’ll add to your WordPress website to start tracking your visitors.

To get your tracking code, log in to your Google Analytics account and go to the Admin section. From there, click on the Tracking Info tab and then Tracking Code. You’ll see a box with your tracking code in it.

Step 3: Install a plugin

To add the tracking code to your WordPress website, you’ll need to install a plugin. There are many Google Analytics plugins available for WordPress, but we’ll be using the MonsterInsights plugin for this guide.

To install MonsterInsights, go to your WordPress dashboard and click on Plugins > Add New. Search for “MonsterInsights” and click on the Install Now button. Once the plugin is installed, click on the Activate button.

Step 4: Connect your Google Analytics account

After you’ve installed and activated the MonsterInsights plugin, you need to connect it to your Google Analytics account.

To do this, go to Insights > Settings in your WordPress dashboard. Click on the Authenticate with your Google account button, and then follow the prompts to sign in to your Google account and authorize MonsterInsights to access your Google Analytics data.

Step 5: Add your tracking code

Once you’ve connected your Google Analytics account to MonsterInsights, you need to add your tracking code to your WordPress website.

To do this, go to Insights > Settings and click on the Tracking tab. From there, you can paste your tracking code into the box labeled “Google Analytics Tracking ID”. Make sure to click on the Save Changes button after you’ve added your tracking code.

Step 6: Check your analytics

After you’ve installed Google Analytics on your WordPress website, it can take a few hours for data to start showing up in your account. To check your analytics, log in to your Google Analytics account and go to the Reporting section. From there, you can view a variety of reports about your website’s visitors, including where they’re coming from, what pages they’re visiting, and more.

Congratulations, you’ve successfully installed Google Analytics on your WordPress website! Now you can start using this powerful tool to better understand your visitors and make data-driven decisions to improve your website.
